Westland Hialeah Senior High School Dance Dress Code

FEMALE: Dresses may not be cut below the bust line.  Your bust continues around your sides directly under your armpit.  With you arms down at your sides, if flesh touches flesh below the bust line, the dress is inappropriate.  Dresses may be backless as long as they are not cut below the navel.  Draw an imaginary line from your belly button around your waist to your back.  If your dress falls below that line, DON’T wear it.  Midriffs will not be exposed.  This includes both front and sides.  Dresses may not have a slit that exceeds mid-thigh, also known as fingertip length.  No pinning will be allowed as an alteration for a dress if without the pin the dress does not meet dress code.  Fabric inserts must be sewn, not pinned on the dress, if without the inserts the dress does not meet dress code. Tube top dresses or rompers must be worn with a sweater or shear blouse over it.  Shoes must be worn at all times, so make sure that they are comfortable.

***Bottom line, use common sense!

MALE: Acceptable dance attire includes a dress shirt and nice slacks.  A suit and tie may also be worn.  NO T-SHIRTS, JEANS, SHORTS.  Dress shirts are to be worn at all times.  Dress shoes must be worn while in any public building.  Tennis shoes and athletic shoes are unacceptable.
